Kirstie McEwan, Associate Therapist
Kirstie is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She works as both a specialist psychosexual and relationship psychotherapist and a general counsellor.
Kirstie is a former trustee of COSRT. She was invited to sit on the National Memorandum of Understanding on Conversion Therapy group and is a former representative of this group as the memorandum is now being implemented by the signatory organisations.
Kirstie is registered with Pink Therapy and has undertaken additional training in working with the essentials of gender and sexual diversity. She is recognised, by Pink Therapy, as an Accredited Gender, Sexualities, and Relationship Diversities Therapist (Accred GSRDT). Kirstie has personal and comprehensive knowledge of the trans and non-binary community and is aware that these people deal with the same day-to-day problems as everyone else irrespective of their specific trans and non-binary needs. She is also aware of the issues that family and friends of trans and non-binary people face and believes that her own experience in this area will be of benefit to others.
Kirstie utilises an Integrative approach, drawing on her awareness of various therapeutic modalities and adapting these to suit the individual client’s need. She provides a safe, non-judgemental space for clients to seek resolution to the issues that bring them to therapy. She works with individuals and couples whatever their sexuality or gender.
